Real Madrid attacker Jose Callejon insists Saturday’s 5-1 La Liga win over Granada was not an easy game for his team.
Madrid picked up an early lead via Karim Benzema, but were dealt a bit of a blow shortly after when Mikel Rico levelled the scoring.
Nevertheless, the league leaders cruised to a comfortable win in the remainder of the match.
“I’m happy with the victory because we knew we faced a complicated opponent. Granada are a good side who made things difficult for us and we knew how to react in the second half,” Callejon said.
“We had to up the pace after half-time and things turned out in the end. It was a special match due to the team we faced and the amazing supporters it has.”
The attacker then looked ahead to the upcoming Copa del Rey match against Malaga, and stressed that Madrid are determined to qualify for the next round.
“We know the match in Malaga will be very difficult, but our objective is to reach the next round,” he said.
Madrid recorded a 3-2 home win in the first leg of their cup tie with Malaga.
