Cameroon starlet on Chelsea radar

Chelsea are among clubs showing interest in Lorient striker Vincent Aboubakar, according to L’Equipe.

The 22-year-old has been in stunning form since joining les Merlus from Valenciennes a year ago, notching 16 goals in 35 league appearances.

His impressive displays did not go unnoticed as a number of English Premier League sides, including Chelsea, have taken notice.

L’Equipe understands that Aboubakar plans to leave Lorient after the 2014 World Cup, where he is set to star for Cameroon. The Indomitable Lions are 13/5 to defeat Mexico in their opening fixture.

The talented striker has two years left on his deal at Stade le Moustoir, meaning Lorient are likely to cash in on their prized asset this summer.

Vincent Aboubakar joined Valenciennes from Cotonsport Garoua in 2010 and went on to score 9 goals in 72 league appearances for the club before moving to Lorient. He has so far earned 13 Cameroon caps.
