Sol Campbell is close to a deal with Championship club West Bromwich Albion.
The veteran defender is hopeful that he will cleared to play immediately.
Campbell looks forward to work with Baggies` manager Roberto di Matteo and will soon go through a medical ahead of signing a long-term contract.
The 35-year-old is supported by the Professional Footballer`s Association in his bid to join another club outside of the stipulated transfer windows.
The former Arsenal defender would under normal circumstances not be able to join a club until January, having just parted ways with Notts County by mutual consent earlier this season.
