(GSM) – The Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger was hugely impressed with the Sol Campbell’s display in a losing cause at Tottenham on Wednesday night, declaring that Campbell was “ready to die” to win that game.
The centre back has led by example in the 10 games he’s played since his shock return to Arsenal in January and Wenger is now considering whether to keep Campbell on beyond the end of the season.
“I will have to sit down with Sol Campbell and I always did that because if he is on board, if he is focused and motivated, he is an important player here and he has shown that again,” said the Frenchman.
“He is not only an important player and a good player but he is a winner.”
“He was ready to die on Wednesday night to win the game and that is what you want from your squad. “
“He has shown that again by example on Wednesday night. On and off the pitch he is a big influence – in the dressing room as well,” Wenger hailed.
