(GSM) – Sol Campbell has criticised referee Martin Hansson. The Arsenal defender believes he was unfairly blocked by the Swedish official for Porto’s controversial winner.
Hansson allowed Porto to take a quick free-kick in the 52nd minute of Wednesday’s Champions League game after Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski handled a back-pass, allowing Falcao to score what proved to be the winner.
Hansson took the ball from Fabianski and gave it to Ruben Micael, who set up Falcao while Arsenal were disorganised to score the decisive goal.
Campbell is unhappy that the referee gave Porto the advantage by blocking him out of the move that prevented him from aiding his team-mates.
“He’s picked the ball up, but afterwards the referee is in front of me and basically giving them an advantage,” he told Sky Sports.
“I can’t get in front of the ball. He’s basically blocked me to get to the ball.”
