Campeonato Paulista: Corinthians 0 Santos 0

Santos have the upper hand heading into the second leg of the Campeonato Paulista final after a 0-0 first-leg draw with Corinthians on Sunday.

The match brought about a beginning of the end of Sao Paulo’s top-flight professional league, which runs during the off-season of the Brazil Serie A.

But neither side could grab an all-important first-leg goal, despite the likes of Santos’ Neymar and Corinthians’ Liedson being on the pitch.

The draw will no doubt favour Santos, who now only need a win at home to clinch the title for the second successive season.

The second leg will be played at the Estadio Urbano Caldeira on May 15.
