A double from Liedson helped Corinthians to a 4-0 victory over Ituano FC in Wednesday’s Campeonato Paulista action.

Less than a week after they were surprisingly dumped out of the Copa Libertadores by Colombian side Deportes Tolima, the Brazilian giants returned to form in emphatic fashion.

Luis Alberto Ramirez kick-started the rout after two minutes with an early strike and defender Chicao doubled the lead less than 20 minutes later.

Portugal international Liedson, making his debut after a switch from Sporting Lisbon, opened his account with 15 minutes remaining and added a second in stoppage time.

Elsewhere, a Saldanha double and a late equaliser from Jandson secured a 3-3 draw for Gremio Prudente against Portuguesa.

Saldanha’s second gave the hosts a 2-1 lead before strikes from Kempes and Tata looked to have given Portugesa the three points, only for Jandson’s late intervention.

In Wednesday’s other match, Ponte Preta and Linense play out a 1-1 draw, with Fausto’s 20th minute equaliser ensuring a share of the spoils.
