Sao Paulo moved into third spot and extended their unbeaten run to five matches after a commanding 2-0 win over Ituano FC in Campeonato Paulista A1.

The top four are now locked on 25 points, with Corinthians and Santos topping the table.

Goals four minutes either side of half-time from Jean and Dagoberto respectively ensured Sao Paulo took full points at home.

Jean opened the scoring with a cracking left-foot strike from just outside the area that flew into the top corner.

Striker Dagoberto doubled their advantage in the 49th minute, slamming into an open net after a passage of fine build-up work.

The home side had the better of the chances for the rest of the contest and were unlucky not to score one or two more in the last half hour.

Paulista FC recorded an important 1-0 win over fellow finals-chasing outfit Oeste FC, jumping into seventh spot on the table.

A solitary goal from forward Hernane a minute before half-time was the difference between the two teams.
