Competition: Premier League
Market: Daniel Sturridge top Premier League goalscorer
Odds: 11/2 @ William Hill
Despite being five goals shy of his club compatriot Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge is an outside bet to win the golden boot for most Premier League goals scored this season, with William Hill giving odds of 11/2 for Sturridge to overtake the Uruguayan in the final 11 games.
While a five-goal deficit will be a difficult task for the England international to overturn, he has been in fine scoring form of late for Liverpool, while Suarez has gone greatly off the boil in front of goal – giving hope for the former Chelsea man to get the first golden boot of his promising career.
Sturridge has 18 from 19 games this season – Suarez has 23 from 22 . However, the former has had no lull or lengthy spells without scoring when he has played this campaign despite having missed a month due to an ankle injury. Suarez is currently goalless in his last four matches – one goal in his previous six – and having to occupy a role out wide.
With 11 games still to go, can Daniel Sturridge overtake Luis Suarez to be the Premier League top goalscorer this season?
