Inter have already beaten Juve once this term – can the on-fire Nerazzurri do it again?

Inter Milan travel to Juventus Stadium to face perennial champions and current leaders Juventus in the Italian Serie A on Sunday evening, in a game that could be a close affair.

The Nerazzurri are in fantastic form of late, boasting the best away return in recent weeks, and could well get a result against a Juventus side who have lost in the league recently and have fallen short to Inter earlier in the season.

Travel-happy Inter in fantastic form overall

Inter Milan come into Sunday’s clash with Juventus in fantastic form, boasting a recent return better than any other side in the division. The Nerazzurri are currently fourth in the Italian Serie A with 42 points from 22 games, having won seven consecutive matches. Inter boast three consecutive wins away from home, conceding just one goal, and only Juventus have picked up more victories on their travels in the league this season.

Stefano Pioli enjoyed a 2-1 win over Juventus in the reverse fixture back in September but his side do have an achilles heel against sides in the top-five. Inter have suffered defeats to second-placed AS Roma, SSC Napoli and SS Lazio so their record isn’t too impressive in games against sides in and around them in the table. But they have bested the leaders before and are in their best run of form all season so they stand a chance of winning at Juventus Stadium.

Juventus’ defensive breaches could see them vulnerable

Juventus haven’t been losing many games of late but their defence has been breached on a number of occasions which will give Inter confidence of doing some damage this weekend. Massimiliano Allegri’s side have conceded four goals in their last five home games, and have won just one of their four head-to-heads against either Inter or AC Milan in all competitions this season.

It’s worth noting the Old Lady haven’t managed a shut out in any of the four games, and come into this weekend’s clash having three in as many home games in all competitions. Inter are nine points adrift in the title race this season, but they could blow things wide open at the top with a win over Juve. Roma, second in the division, are only four points behind and could narrow the gap to the summit if the Nerazzurri do them a favour. Inter Milan are 11/2 to win against Juventus on Sunday evening.

Can they come out on top?
