Can rules out Man United move

Emre Can is not interested in a move to Manchester United – because of his time spent at Liverpool, according to Tuttosport.

Despite the rise of first Chelsea and then Manchester City as true powers in English football in the last 10 to 15 years, Manchester United with 20 league titles and Liverpool with 18 are still regarded as the fiercest rivals in the country. Can arrived to Liverpool under Brendan Rodgers in 2014 and went on to represent the Reds in 166 games in all competitions, scoring 14 goals. However, he refused to extend his contract and left Anfield as a free agent to join Juventus in 2018.

But with the competition for a place in the middle of the park at the Old Lady extremely fierce, the German hasn’t been getting nearly as many minutes as he’d like and reports recently linked him with a move away from Turin. United were apparently among the clubs interested in his services, but the 25-year-old doesn’t want to disrespect his time with Liverpool by joining their fiercest rivals.
