Competition: Premier League
Market: Southampton to beat Crystal Palace
Odds: 5/4 @ Betfair

Southampton face relegation-threatened Crystal Palace this weekend on the back of rocky form – enduring back-to-back defeats for the third time this season.

Their opponents are looking to hit the 30 points barrier with a win, but Saints have some psychological advantage after having beaten the Eagles 2-0 at Selhurst Park when the two sides met earlier in the season.

As a result, Betfair are giving odds of 5/4 for Mauricio Pochettino’s to do the league double over Palace.

Prior to the consecutive defeats to West Ham United & Liverpool, Southampton had taken 12 points from six games. They’ll be keen to surpass the infamous 40-point safety margin, despite their Premier League status never under any threat this season.

While Crystal Palace’s home form has been impressive, they haven’t beaten any side in the top-half of the Premier League this season, and have only taken two-points in total from teams who were 10th and above when they’d faced them.

It all points to an away win for the Saints this weekend, and victory will see them keep the heat on Newcastle and Manchester United, who are directly above them.
