Real Madrid midfielder Sergio Canales has revealed that he would like to stay in Spain, amidst speculation linking him with a move away from Santiago Bernabeu.
The promising footballer has found himself on the fringes at Real and was left in Madrid as los Blancos embarked on the North American tour.
The 20-year-old has hinted at a possible departure by saying that he wants to play first team football on regular basis.
“My intention is to play as many minutes as possible, if not at Real Madrid, then at some other club,” Canales told AS.
Despite the recent links with Everton, the player says he would rather stay in Spain.
“My preference is to stay in Spain.”
Villarreal and Valencia are reportedly keen on the highly regarded youngster and they are set to make a move in the coming days.
