Candreva set for new Lazio deal

Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Italy international Antonio Candreva is set to sign a new long-term deal with Lazio.

The 27-year-old was on the radar of several high-profile sides this summer following some impressive displays for the Biancocelesti, but club’s €30 million asking price ultimately proved too much for interested parties.

And even if his current deal does not expire until June 2018, Lazio aim to reward the midfielder with an improved contract and make him their highest-paid player together with Miroslav Klose.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the two sides have already reached an agreement with only minor details left to be sorted out.

Antonio Candreva was in stunning form last season, having managed 12 goals and 6 assists in 37 Serie A outings.

After suffering a 3-1 defeat to AC Milan at the start of the new Serie A campaign, Lazio have been made 4/11 favourites to see off newcomers Cesena.
