Benfica full-back Joan Capdevila would like to join Espanyol in January, according to his agent.
The member of Spain’s World Cup winning squad arrived to La Luz in the summer, but has since amassed just a couple of appearances.
Capdevila is clearly not in Jorge Jesus’ plans and he is eager to leave the club in January.
Benfica are prepared to let him go, but they want to get at least a portion of the €2.8 million invested in him.
“There is an agreement to let Capdevila go in January if an offer arrives, but Benfica will not let him leave on the cheap, having paid him €2.8 million plus salary,” player’s agent Horacio Gazzoli told Com Radio.
“They want to regain at least part of the investment.”
Gazzoli then revealed that Capdevila would like to join Espanyol.
“He would be delighted to join Espanyol. It would be a great way to end his career.”
