Capello likes me – Cole

(GSM) – Carlton Cole believes England manager Fabio Capello “likes him”. West Ham’s Cole thinks Capello is a fan of his talents, a detail which could prove vital in Capello’s World Cup squad selection.

Cole has an outside chance to make this summer’s tournament squad after a season which was disrupted by several injuries. Hence, Cole could not play much and only managed to find the net on nine occasions for the struggling Hammers.

“I think Fabio Capello likes me,” Cole told The Independent. “Maybe he can see I have got the potential to be a good footballer and I am still willing to learn.

“I have improved over the last 18 months rapidly and I have still got loads to do as well. He can see that I am trying.

“He loves that endeavour in a player, who wants to learn and never gives up.”
