Capello: Rooney like Raul

(GSM) – England boss Fabio Capello has compared the talent of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney to that of Real Madrid legend Raul.

Capello has worked with both men during an illustrious career which has seen him collect silverware from all over the globe.

Rooney has become a key figure for both United and England, while Raul is the all-time goalscorer for Real Madrid and Spain. The Italian tactician reserved special praise for Rooney.

“Wayne Rooney is one of the best talents I have trained. I think he is like Raul,” Capello told Sky Sports News.

“He is a really important player for a big club. Every time he trains he wants to learn.

“He wants to be on the pitch all the time. It is really important for him, and all the important players, to stay on the pitch.”
