In what was a must-win game for them in the Euro 2024 qualifiers at the Ferenc Puskas Arena in Budapest, Montenegro took a surprising lead over Hungary in the 36th minute through Slobodan Rubezic. However, Hungary captain Dominik Szoboszlai turned the contest around with a top-class brace within two minutes (66′, 68′), before Adam Nagy added a third for the hosts in stoppage time to make the final score 3-1.
The result helped Serbia, who drew 2-2 at home against last-place Bulgaria in Group G, to clinch a spot at the Euros as second to Hungary.
This was a truly superb goal from Szoboszlai.
