With Neil Warnock’s Cardiff side back in pole position to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League, they will look to widen the gap when they travel to Derby on Tuesday.

It has been an incredible fall from grace for Gary Rowett’s Derby side. Although they were tipped by many as favorites for promotion this year, the Rams now find themselves out of the playoff positions and their recent form has shown minimal signs of improving. Coming off the back of a 2-1 home defeat to Middlesbrough, the Whites have now lost their last three on the bounce and have shipped seven in those three. It has also been their poor form at the iPro Stadium that has continued to disappoint, Rowett’s side have only won one of their home matches in their last six attempts.

As for Neil Warnock’s Cardiff side, it has been a rollercoaster couple of weeks for the Bluebirds. After failing to win three on the bounce and slipping out the automatic promotion positions, Cardiff have now won their last two on the bounce and have jumped back ahead of Fulham in the chase for promotion and will be desperate to extend the gap to four points. Warnock’s side will travel to Derbyshire filled with confidence on their travels, the Bluebirds have now only lost one match on the road in their last nine appearances, a run stemming back to New Years day.
