Cardiff at 4/7 to beat Birmingham in Saturdays Championship clash

Competition: Championship
Market: Cardiff to beat Birmingham
Odds: 4/7 @ Bet 365

Two teams that are involved at battles at different ends of the Championship table, on Saturday afternoon, Neil Warnock’s high-flying Bluebirds will play host to a Birmingham City side in desperate need of points.

For the hosts on Saturday afternoon, life under Neil Warnock could not be going more to plan for the Bluebirds. With the former QPR manager signing an extended deal at the Cardiff City Stadium, the Welsh side now know that they’re in the driving seat to secure Premier League football come the end of the season. Currently sat second in the Championship table, Warnock’s side now sit four points adrift of third-place Aston Villa and enjoying a fine run of form. Cardiff are coming off the back of a 2-1 win over Barnsley that has now extended their winning run to five games on the bounce, the Bluebirds have also only conceded one goal in those five outings.

As for the visitors on Saturday afternoon, the Blues will be desperate for former Middlesborough and Swansea manager Gary Monk to help shore up what is becoming an increasingly more ominous position. Currently sat 22nd in the Championship table, Birmingham now find themselves two points adrift of safety and their form is showing no signs of improving. In his first game in charge, Monk saw his new side slump to a 1-0 defeat against his former side Middlesbrough, that results extended Birmingham’s new record to seven defeats on the bounce.
