Cardiff City 4/5 to beat Charlton in Tuesday’s Championship matchup

Competition: Championship

Market: Cardiff City win

Odds: 4/5 @ Bet 365

With the chance to widen their buffer in the play-off positions, a high-flying Cardiff will welcome Charlton to South Wales on Tuesday evening.

Starting with the hosts, putting in a stunning display over the weekend and picking up what could be a crucial 3-1 win away at fellow play-off chasers Preston, Cardiff have skyrocketed back into the top-six and the mood in their camp should be on the rise. Undoubtedly still boosted by what was a stunning 2-0 win against league leaders Leeds on their return to action, the Bluebirds have won their last three Championship matchups on the bounce and have collected 10 points out of a possible 12 on their four-match unbeaten run. Really starting to shine in the final third and with their sights set on securing a Premier League return this summer, Head Coach Neil Harris will be hoping for leading marksman Robert Glatzel to lead their charge in midweek. Once again finding the net against Preston on Saturday, the 26-year-old has recorded back-to-back strikes since returning from the enforced break.

As for the visitors, putting in another plucky display and picking up a 1-0 win against London rivals QPR over the weekend, Charlton have picked up back-to-back victories since return from the enforced break. However, while Lee Bowyer’s side may have found a route out of the drop zone, the Reds have continued to struggle with their performances away from the Valley. While they may have marked their return with another 1-0 win at a struggling Hull earlier in the month, Charlton have lost six of their last eight matchups on the road and have just a pair of Championship away wins to their name since marking their second-tier return last summer. Hit with a 2-1 defeat the last time they made the trip to South Wales, we’re backing a similar outcome in midweek.
