Cardiff City have completed the signing of Spanish defender Juan Cala from Sevilla, according to BBC Sport.
The Bluebirds were able to sign the player after the Friday’s deadline after he had ended his contract with los Rojiblancos by mutual consent.
Cala had mere five months left on his deal at Sevilla and was allowed to leave on a free after rejecting a new contract offer.
The 24-year-old is the seventh player to have arrived at the club in the January transfer window, following the captures of Magnus Wolff Eikrem, Mats Moller Daehli, Jo Inge Berget, Kenwyne Jones, Fabio da Silva and Wilfried Zaha.
Juan Cala came through the youth ranks at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan and went on to feature in 32 La Liga matches for Sevilla, scoring 5 goals.
He also enjoyed loan spells with Cartagena and AEK Athens, and ultimately decided to leave los Rojiblancos despite starting 9 league matches this season.
