French newspaper L’Equipe has suggested that Cardiff City are ready to launch an assault on Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis.
The Welsh side are looking for high-profile signings having ensured promotion to the Premier League and they are seriously thinking about the France international.
Cardiff have around €35 million to spend in the summer transfer window and they are prepared to invest a big portion of the money into Bafetimbi Gomis.
The 27-year-old, who is also followed by Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen among others, has a contract until June 2014.
However, he is not too keen on joining the newly promoted side as he believes a move to Cardiff would damage his chances of making France 2014 World Cup squad.
Bafetimbi Gomis, who has scored at least ten goals in every one of last seven Ligue 1 seasons, has netted 16 times in 35 league matches for les Gones this term.
