Toulouse FC have revealed that they have received a €12 million offer from Cardiff for star midfielder Etienne Capoue.
The France international has become one of the most sought-after players in the summer transfer window, with Arsenal and Atletico Madrid both showing interest in his services.
However, while the two sides were not prepared to meet Toulouse’s asking price, Cardiff City have surprisingly moved to pole position.
Le Tefece president Olivier Sadran has confirmed on Thursday that the Bluebirds have submitted an official offer worth €12 million, while inviting other interested sides to match the bid.
“The clubs that are interested should now know that we will not accept a proposal that is lower than that offered by Cardiff,” Sadran explained to L’Equipe.
With other interested sides not even close to matching the asking price, everything suggests Cardiff are going to win the race for the midfielder’s signature, that is unless he rejects a move to Wales.
Capoue, 25, has amassed a total of 173 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring 13 goals in the process, while he has earned 6 France caps up to date.
