Cardiff offer €12m for Capoue

Toulouse FC have revealed that they have received a €12 million offer from Cardiff for star midfielder Etienne Capoue.

The France international has become one of the most sought-after players in the summer transfer window, with Arsenal and Atletico Madrid both showing interest in his services.

However, while the two sides were not prepared to meet Toulouse’s asking price, Cardiff City have surprisingly moved to pole position.

Le Tefece president Olivier Sadran has confirmed on Thursday that the Bluebirds have submitted an official offer worth €12 million, while inviting other interested sides to match the bid.

“The clubs that are interested should now know that we will not accept a proposal that is lower than that offered by Cardiff,” Sadran explained to L’Equipe.

With other interested sides not even close to matching the asking price, everything suggests Cardiff are going to win the race for the midfielder’s signature, that is unless he rejects a move to Wales.

Capoue, 25, has amassed a total of 173 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring 13 goals in the process, while he has earned 6 France caps up to date.

Now the scum Hammam has been paid off, Vincent Tan is to convert his debt to shares and make Cardiff City a pretty strong Club. With ground extension plans (up to 42,000) we really are on the up and up. Great to see Malky Mackay trying to get quality like Capoue in. But its difficult for him to convince players we wont be a struggling side. Catch 22. Capoue would be the rock we build a side around. With Kim Bo Kyung set to shock a few people ive never been so excited to be a City fan. But it all depends on how persuasive Malky is

Whilst a striker is all important, so is a DM. Now that it is coming out of the Emirates that the setup there means they cannot multi-task, it’s heartbreaking to see Etienne Capoue going towards Cardiff for £10,000,000. Capoue was one of the players we bid for in the transfer window. He is an alpha dominating fiery player and has the Viera, Keown type attitude. So we are going to lose him because of the dinosaur like structure at the Emirates. I would love to see a quality striker like Suarez here, but with the Emirates cup just about a week away am I dreaming that Yaya Sanogo is our only signing. Now that it is even coming from insiders that something is wrong at the Emirates, to Gazidis I say…get up off your damned arse and do what you are supposed to do….slacker! Get this guy.
