Benfica star Oscar Cardozo has admitted that he wouldn’t mind moving to Russian Premier League this summer.
The experienced forward is widely tipped to leave Estadio da Luz in the upcoming transfer window and it appears he will be moving to the East, with clubs from Turkey and Russia keen on his services.
Russian daily newspaper Izvestia has learned that Lokomotiv Moscow, Rubin Kazan and FK Krasnodar are all showing interest.
And while the striker has admitted that he is likely to be leaving the Eagles after the World Cup, he is also open to the possibility of moving to Russia.
“It is possible that I will leave Benfica this summer, after the World Cup, especially since I have offers,” Cardozo confessed to Izvestia.
“Why not? There is a strong league in Russia. Everyone can see that Russian clubs have signed fine players, many of whom I know.”
The only potential obstacle could be Benfica’s €13 million valuation on the player who has two years left on his deal at Estadio da Luz.
Oscar Cardozo, 31, has lost his place in the side this term, but still managed to score 7 goals in 15 league outings.
