Former-Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti looks set to be appointed as Paris St Germain’s new boss.
The Italian won the Premier League title and FA Cup in his first season at Stamford Bridge but was sacked the following season after failing to collect further silverware.
Un-official
The oil-rich French side haven’t officially sacked boss Antoine Kombouare but according to reports the club is about to dispense with the Frenchman’s services.
The club are currently sitting top of the Ligue One table but it seems the new owners want a high profile boss in charge of the club.
Ambitious
Paris St Germain are very ambitious and it seems that they want to fill their club with high profile individuals in every area. It looks as though the prospective appointment of Carlo Ancelotti is set to be the catalyst to major stars joining the club.
The PSG owners want the club to rule Europe and they aren’t afraid to splash the cash. With money short in the game the Parisians are one of the few clubs with money to splash out.
Talented
There is no doubt about it Carlo Ancelotti is a talented manager having collect a host of silverware at both AC Milan and Chelsea, including the Champions League trophy and league titles. However at Chelsea he was never the main man with Blues owner Roman Abramovich always keeping charge of players coming in and out.
If Ancelotti is left to do his job then no doubt he will bring success to the French capital. He was a winner as a player and also as a boss. Ancelotti is a winner and he has proved that down the years in both Italy and England.
Big
He now looks set for a new adventure in France. With the arrival of Ancelotti at the Parc des Princes I can see Ancelotti building a team quite like the one that fellow Italian Roberto Mancini has in Manchester with Manchester City.
Manchester City and PSG now have very similar resources. It could be that these two will be competing to be the biggest clubs in Europe in the near future. Ancelotti is bound to be given funds to spend in the January transfer window and PSG are only going to get bigger.
Ideal
PSG is the ideal club for Carlo Ancelotti to kick-start his managerial career. He was seen as a slight failure after being sacked by Chelsea but a lot of that underachievement was down to Roman Abramovich interfering with first team matters.
Ancelotti was never really allowed to build a team of his own and always had the Russian over his shoulder. It remains to be seen how much control Ancelotti will have over this new team and club. Ancelotti and PSG are the perfect fit at the moment though.
If PSG are going to be a powerhouse of European football then they need somebody like Carlo Ancelotti at the helm to guide them to glory. Carlo Ancelotti and Paris Saint Germain are currently the perfect combination.
Will Carlo Ancelotti be a good appointment for PSG?
