Carlos reveals Anzhi interested in Messi, Ronaldo; Ederson agrees Lazio move

Carlos reveals Anzhi interested in Messi, Ronaldo

Brazilian defender Roberto Carlos claims that Anzhi will try to bring Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to Makhachkala.

Owned by billionaire Suleyman Kerimov, the Russian Premier League side recently started the process of recruiting world-class players to Makhachkala and they are already planning next moves.

Samuel Eto’o, Yuri Zhirkov and Guus Hiddink have already arrived and Roberto Carlos, acting as a sporting director now claims that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are also on the wish list.

“When their contracts end, we will try to bring them,” Carlos told Nuevo Continente magazine.

“Messi is the best player in the world and continues to prove that at Barcelona. Cristiano is a great Real ambassador and I have no real preference for either of them.”

Anzhi currently occupy 7th place in the Russian Premier League standings, but they are just one point behind European places.

Ederson agrees Lazio move

Lyon midfielder Ederson has agreed to join Lazio when his contract expires at the end of the season, L’Equipe understands.

The 26-year-old has been unable to hold on to a regular starting berth since making a switch from Nice and recently expressed his desire to leave Gerland.

The Brazilian has a contract until the end of the season with Lyon and it is now clear that he will leave on a free transfer in June.

According to L’Equipe, Ederson has agreed a four-year deal with Lazio, meaning that he will move to Olimpico when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The Biancocelesti tried to sign the Brazilian midfielder last summer, but their bid was rejected by Lyon.

The French giants are, therefore, set to lose quite some money on the player considering that he arrived from Nice for a fee of €14 million in June 2008.

Aston Villa ponder Johnson swoop

Aston Villa are weighing up move for Fulham striker Andrew Johnson, The Mirror has revealed.

Villa manager Alex McLeish is forced to operate on a tight budget, meaning that he mostly targets free deals and loan signings.

Aston Villa have already secured the signing of AZ Alkmaar midfielder Brett Holman and they continue planning for next season.

According to The Mirror, the Villans are keen on signing Fulham striker Andrew Johnson.

The experienced forward has a contract until the end of the season with the Cottagers and he has yet to agree a new deal.

This basically means that he could be available on a free transfer in June, and it’s now up to Big Eck to try and persuade him to make a switch to Villa Park.

The 31-year-old has scored just 3 goals in 19 Premier League appearances this term, but he bagged 8 goals in 13 Europa League games.
