According to the Daily Mirror, Roberto Mancini told Argentine striker Carlos Tevez to “f*** off back to Argentina” after the front-man refused to play in Tuesday’s Champions League match versus Bayern Munich.
Tevez has made it a habit of getting bad press as of late. He tried to clear up Tuesday’s “misunderstanding” when he told Sky Sports the following:
“I would like to apologise to all Manchester City fans, with whom I have always had a strong relationship, for any misunderstanding that occurred in Munich. They understand that when I am on the pitch I have always given my best for the club.
“In Munich on Tuesday I had warmed up and was ready to play. This is not the right time to get into specific details as to why this did not happen. But I wish to state that I never refused to play.
“There was some confusion on the bench and I believe my position may have been misunderstood.
“Going forward, I am ready to play when required and to fulfil my obligations.”
Despite Tevez’s comments, City have suspended the Argentine international for two weeks pending review.
Here is the official statement from the club.
“Manchester City can confirm that striker Carlos Tevez has been suspended until further notice for a maximum period of two weeks.
“The player’s suspension is pending a full review into his alleged conduct during Tuesday evening’s 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich.
“The player will not be considered for selection or take part in training whilst the review is under way.”
Carlos Tevez has surely made his last appearance in City blue. City will definitely be looking to sell the striker in the January window. Bid at your own risk.
Titus Bramble Arrested on Suspicion of Sexual Assault…Again
Sunderland defender Titus Bramble is in trouble, lots of trouble. The former England U-21 international was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault yesterday, marking the third time the player has been a suspect in a rape/sexual assault case.
A Sunderland spokesman said,”The club is looking into this matter but due to ongoing police investigations is unable to comment further at this stage.”
Titus’s brother Tesfaye is currently serving a four and a half year sentence for a rape conviction in which Titus himself was also a suspect.
The third time could be the dagger for Titus, who was also arrested for possession of a Class A drug. Bramble could very well be facing significant prison time if he is convicted.
Once a promising young star at Ipswich, Bramble’s life and career have taken a horrible turn. At this point, a U-Turn would be deemed illegal, leaving Bramble in a world of trouble with the authorities.
Titus Bramble has appeared in three games for Sunderland in 2011-12, scoring one goal.
