I read a story on a major website yesterday and I thought as I read it that it sounded like a familiar tale.
The story was Carlos Tevez speculating on his own future surprise, surprise. I suppose it makes a change from other people speculating about his future.
Stay
A few weeks ago I wrote an article about how Manchester City must keep hold of the Argentinian striker.
However after all the speculation about the strikers future I think it will now be better for all parties involved to part company.
Request
The Argentinian international handed in a transfer request in January but ended up staying with City. If he handed in a transfer request he obviously wanted to leave the club. I think they should have let him go. If he doesn’t want to play for the club then he should go elsewhere. The speculation about his future is really starting to get boring.
Personal
Carlos Tevez has stated missing his family as a reason for his unhappiness in Manchester. The reason why he hasn’t moved his family over from Argentina is a mystery. It’s not like he hasn’t got enough money to moved his whole family over to England.
He still hasn’t managed to learn to speak English fluently either after being in England for four years. That shows that he isn’t really interested in staying in England or anything the country has to offer. And he told Argentinian TV that when he leaves City he would never return to Manchester. That sounds like a slightly childish comment to me.
Money
He says that money isn’t everything and it doesn’t buy him time with his daughters. What it does buy is a place where they could live somewhere in England, so he doesn’t miss them as much.
He is talking about moving clubs but says money isn’t important. If that really is the case he should move back to Argentina and collect a smaller wage packet. That will mean he is happy being closer to his family and still playing football.
Talented
Like a lot of talented footballers Carlos Tevez is a very temperament individual. He gives his all on the pitch and even after he decided to hand in a transfer request he carried on performing for the Citizens.
Move
He is still highly-rated throughout Europe, despite his outbursts and tantrums. He is now being linked with Milan giants AC and Inter. He is also being linked with a move to Spain with Barcelona.
According to Tevez he has Sheikh Mansour’s permission to leave the club this summer if he wishes. I just can’t see how a move to Italy or Spain will help with his homesickness. It will just be another country where he is thousands of miles away from his family.
Manchester City have the money to sign a quality replacement for the Argentinian. And they also already have the likes Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko at the club, so if he does leave then the club won’t be without attacking talent.
I think that a lot of Manchester City fans have had enough of the speculation surrounding their captains future. And I think that the vast majority may now want the Argentinian to move elsewhere.
Best
I think it’s for the best that Carlos Tevez now leaves Manchester City and England. A move won’t improve his homesickness but it will mean that we will no longer have to put up with the constant speculation everyday about his future.
Is it time for Carlos Tevez to leave Manchester City?
