Spanish daily newspaper El Mundo Deportivo has suggested that Real Sociedad star Carlos Vela’s long-term future at the club is in doubt.
The Mexican is enjoying a very successful season at Anoeta and top European clubs have started to take notice.
For the time being, the 25-year-old appears happy to stay at Real Sociedad, but club’s potential failure to qualify for the Champions League may drive him out at the end of the season.
La Real sit nine points behind fourth-placed Athletic Club, albeit with a game in hand, while their Europa League qualification is also in danger.
Carlos Vela, who has a contract until June 2016, could decide to consider his options at the end of the season, and the club face a real battle on their hands to keep hold of their prized asset.
The Mexican has been in excellent form this season, having managed 10 goals and 9 assists in 27 La Liga appearances.
