Arsenal have announced on their official website that they have sold striker Carlos Vela to Real Sociedad.
The 23-year-old has thus severed ties with the North London outfit after spending last seven years at the club.
The highly rated forward spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad and has now made a permanent switch to Anoeta after the two clubs successfully negotiated the transfer fee.
The Mexican joined Arsenal back in 2005 from Chivas Guadalajara and didn’t need a lot of time to show his amazing potential.
However, despite impressing in Cup competitions and reserve games, Vela was never given a real chance to impress at Arsenal and spent most of his time on loan spells.
The last season was his most successful yet, given that the striker scored 12 goals in 35 La Liga appearances, thus proving that he is good enough to succeed in one of Europe’s top leagues.
