Eintracht Frankfurt defender Carlos Zambrano has emerged as a top target for Serie A outfit Fiorentina, Bild can reveal.
It is no secret that Viola are desperate to recruit a quality centre-back in the January transfer window, but they appear unable to reach an agreement with Benfica over Lisandro Lopez.
As a result, Fiorentina have turned their attention to Eintracht Frankfurt star Carlos Zambrano, who is widely regarded as one of Bundesliga’s leading defenders.
And while his employers insist that their prized asset will not be sold in January, Bild is confident that a big money offer would change their minds.
Similar scenario happened when Kevin Trapp left to join PSG in a €9 million deal and an offer in that region could prove sufficient.
Carlos Zambrano, 26, has spent his entire professional career in Germany having joined Schalke as a youngster, while also representing St Pauli and Eintracht Frankfurt.
