Former England international Carlton Cole is set to be reunited with former Chelsea teammate Michael Essien at Persib Bandung, as the 33-year-old forward has put pen to paper to a 10-month deal with the Indonesian side.

Carlton Cole last played for Sacramento Republic last year, but has decided to go to the opposite side of the globe as he joined the Indonesian side on a short-term contract with option of an extension.

Cole underwent a medical in Bandung ahead of a deal and was officially unveiled by the club on Thursday morning.

The former English international arrives in Indonesia just two weeks before the kick-ff of Go-Jek Traveloka Liga 1, the country’s top flight.

Carlton Cole will wear No. 12 shirt at Persib Bandung, the same number he used to wear at the beginning of his career at Chelsea.

Having progressed through the club academy at Stamford Bridge, Carlton Cole struggled to hold down a regular place in the first-team.

He was sent on a number of loans, before he moved to West Ham United in 2006 where he played over 200 Premier League games and scored 47 goals.
