(GSM) – England defender Jamie Carragher has hinted he will retire from international football.

Liverpool defender Carragher confirmed that he was retiring from the England duty.

“This was a one-off thing,” he said.

“The manager said he had a few injuries and I came into the squad and helped.

“I was delighted with the opportunity to play in a World Cup and work with Capello but I have always said the most important thing for me is Liverpool Football Club.”

The 32-year-old has made 38 appearances for his national team and was a member of the Three Lions at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
