ESPN understands that Michael Carrick could be set to sign a new deal at Manchester United.
The midfielder has been strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford after a decade at the club but could now extend his stay with Jose Mourinho set to take the reins.
He signed from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2006 and has since racked up four hundred and twenty-one appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring twenty-three goals and winning a host of major honours.
He has won the Premier League five times, the League Cup and the Champions League while he added an FA Cup winners medal to his collection at the weekend as the Red Devils beat Crystal Palace by two goals to one after extra time.
Internationally, he has been capped thirty-four times for England but missed out on selection for Roy Hodgson’s Euro 2016 squad.
