Italian newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport understands that Bayer Leverkusen defender Daniel Carvajal is set to rejoin Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
Los Blancos officials are in the market for a new right-sided defender and it appears they have decided to make a move on their former player.
Carvajal left Real Madrid to join Bayer Leverkusen in a €5 million deal last summer, but a €6.5 million buy-back clause was also inserted in the deal.
That clause will allow los Merengues to resign their former defender without any problems in the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old full-back has largely impressed in his first ever senior season, clocking up 30 Bundesliga appearances for die Werkself and scoring one goal.
Carvajal has clearly done enough to earn a second chance at Santiago Bernabeu and it’s up to him to nail down a regular starting berth at Real.
