Real Madrid defender Ricardo Carvalho seems to be edging closer to Monaco switch, L’Equipe has revealed.
The Principality club have already captured the likes of Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez, while Radamel Falcao is also set to join.
Monaco officials plan to continue summer recruitment, with Portuguese defender Ricardo Carvalho next on agenda.
According to L’Equipe, the Real Madrid stopper was in Monaco on Monday night to negotiate a Bosman deal with the newly promoted side.
Carvalho’s contract at Santiago Bernabeu is set to expire in June and it is no secret he won’t be offered a new deal.
The veteran defender is 35 at the moment, but he does appear to have a couple of good years ahead of him.
Carvalho, who joined Real Madrid from Chelsea in the summer of 2010, has clocked up 49 La Liga appearances for los Merengues, scoring 3 goals.
