(GSM) – Real Madrid and Spain captain Iker Casillas thinks of Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David De Gea as his possible successor.
De Gea made a good impression this season, and helped his side earn a 1-1 draw with Valencia on Wednesday.
Casillas commented on the 19-year-old ‘keeper saying that while he does not personally know him, he believes that De Gea “has been doing very well”.
“Watching him reminds me of when I started 11 years ago.”
“We all have to look after him. He has a long road ahead of him, and when he least expects it he may get a call-up to the national team,” the world champion said.
De Gea has already spent several years at the top in Spanish youth football, representing the U17, U19, U20 and U21 teams.
