Captain Iker Casillas wants Real Madrid’s title celebrations to focus on the club and not on ending Barcelona’s time at the top.
Real secured their first La Liga title in four years on Wednesday to halt Barcelona’s run at three titles in a row.
But Casillas refused to talk about Barcelona, preferring to focus on his team’s achievements.
“Today is the day to enjoy for Real Madrid and our supporters,” Casillas said.
“We should reflect on the season we had and the La Liga we have won.
“I think we have dominated the league since the beginning and we should enjoy today.
“I am not going to give my opinion about the people who are not from this club because today is a day to enjoy this title for the city of Madrid and everyone in white.”
The 2011/12 title is the 32nd in Real’s history.
But outgoing Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola believes the current Real side must back up this season’s title with consecutive championships if they want to match the current playing group in Catalonia.
“Real did better this year but they have to continue to win like we did, and that is the most difficult thing to achieve,” Guardiola said.
“To win one year is not the most difficult, the most difficult is to keep at the top for a long time.
“This is the success of this Barcelona team.”
