Castilla leaves Lecce for Fiorentina

Argentinian Jose Ignacio Castillo has joined Italian Serie A side Fiorentina, making the move from Lecce.

The 34 year old striker left a good impression last season, scoring seven goals for Lecce. Until then, he had mostly played for smaller Italian teams.

At ‘La Viola’, Castillo will most probably function as back-up for Alberto Gilardino.

“My role is clear, but I still think of this is a unique chance. I will have to be ready when the coach needs me,” he said.

Fiorentina are reportedly paying a fee of one million Euros for the player.
