Catania have confirmed that they are negotiating the sale of forward Maxi Lopez to Fulham.
The Elephants are ready to cash in on their star player in January and they are currently in talks with several clubs.
The Argentine’s proposed move to Milan appeared to have fallen through, but the Rossoneri could reignite their interest after missing out on Carlos Tevez.
“Lopez to Milan? We’ll see what happens over the next few days,” Catania director Pietro Lo Monaco told Radio Kiss Kiss.
The official, however, revealed that the talks with Fulham are ongoing.
“We are carrying on discussions with Fulham. The player has been waiting because he liked the Milan talk, but we couldn’t wait for too much longer.
“We’ve been in contact with Fulham for a couple of weeks now. The player has stalled things a bit, but let’s see what comes of it.”
The 27-year-old has scored just three goals in 14 Serie A games this season, but he is still rated as one of the best forwards in Italian top flight.
Maxi Lopez bagged the total of 21 goals in 66 league games since making his move from Gremio two years ago.
