Cavani happy at PSG

Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani has played down reports linking him with a summer exit from the Parc des Princes, insisting he is happy in Paris.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani has played down reports linking him with a summer exit from the Parc des Princes, insisting he is happy in Paris.

The Uruguay international, 28, joined PSG from Napoli in a deal worth €64 million in the summer of 2013, and has gone on to tally 24 goals and two assists in 52 Ligue 1 appearances for Les Parisiens.

According to reports, last summer, Cavani was looking to leave the French capital for the English Premier League amid reported interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.

However, the 28-year-old striker, whose current deal at PSG expires June 2018, has now insisted he is ‘great’ in Paris.

“Today I’m great here in Paris,” Cavani said. “My family and I are happy and every time they come and watch me play, they enjoy.

“We have a great team. Like I said, there is a nice project backing the club and I’m finding my way in Paris. I want to give them the best.

“I hope I can give the best to this club and repay the confidence the president placed in me when he signed me. I want to build on the confidence the coach gives me and that he also gives to my teammates.”

Cavani added: “I’ve always said I’m very happy being here, it’s a club that’s growing and it’s a very nice and attractive project and it always makes you happy to be part of this.

“Sincerely, like I’ve said many times one thing that fills me with pleasure is finishing a match and going to bed peacefully knowing I’ve contributed with my best for the team.

“Many times you can’t score goals and the important thing is knowing that you gave your best for your team-mates and having the intention to make things happen the best way possible for PSG.”

Ronaldinho expected to join Kabuscorp

Former Brazil international star Ronaldinho is on the verge of joining Angolan side Kabuscorp, according to the club’s president Benedict Kangamba.

Ronaldinho, 34, is currently a member of Mexican side Queretaro, but will be free to sign for another club once his contract is terminated by mutual consent.

“It’s a certainty,” Kangamba said. “We are negotiating, but Ronaldinho has to terminate the contract with his current club, and then be able to join us in June.

“You may ask why I picked Ronaldinho – well, I want quality in my squad.”

The two-time FIFA World Player of the Year has bagged three goals in 15 appearances in all competitions for Queretaro this season.
