Cavani hints at PSG exit; Porto to bid for Lamela

Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani has all but suggested that he plans to leave Paris Saint-Germain in the near future.

It is no secret that the 28-year-old is unhappy at being played out of position and it appears that he is already considering his options.

But, while he was expected to continue playing at the highest level for at least few more years, Cavani has now hinted that he may return to Uruguay in just a couple of years.

“Where could I end my career? I might finish the career at Danubio, as a way of saying thanks to the club for everything they did when I was a kid,” Cavani told Surface magazine.

“When I reach 30, I’ll start thinking about the end of my career. But, I want to return to my country.”

Despite being often played on the wing, Cavani has managed 40 goals in 75 Ligue 1 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain.

Porto to bid for Lamela

Portuguese giants FC Porto are considering a January bid for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Erik Lamela, according to Sportsweek, a programme on BBC Radio 5.

The Dragons reportedly plan to lure the Argentine footballer to Estadio do Dragao at the earliest opportunity.

As a result, they have already contacted the Tottenham officials to open talks over the player’s possible switch to Portugal.

FC Porto have held a long-standing interest in Erik Lamela and they decided to return for the 23-year-old after ending negotiations for Lucas Lima.

The Argentina international has largely struggled to prove his worth in English Premier League, scoring just 3 goals in 41 league outings.

Lamela could play a part when Tottenham face Anderlecht in Europa League, with Spurs 5/4 to win in Belgium.

European giants vying for Grujic

Serbian daily newspaper Vecernje Novosti is reporting that Red Star Belgrade hotshot Marko Grujic is on the radar of several top sides.

The 19-year-old caught the eye of European giants with his performances for Serbia’s youth teams and he was a member of the squad that won the Under-20 World Cup in June this year.

Grujic has since also developed into a key player for the Serbia’s most famous club, scoring in each of Red Star’s last three games.

The amazing long-range goal he scored at the weekend against Rad could prove the most important as Manchester United, Juventus and Atletico Madrid representatives were reportedly all in the stands keeping a close eye on the talented footballer.

Grujic has made it clear that he wants to lift the league title with Red Star before he leaves for a top club, but a summer move could be on the cards, especially since his side boast an eight-point cushion at the top of the standings with a game in hand.

It is important to note that Chelsea are also keeping close tabs on arguably the hottest Serbian prospect at the moment.
