(GSM) – New Napoli signing Edinson Cavani has revealed why he preferred to join the Partenopei instead of Champions League winners Internazionale.
Cavani was linked with a move to the Nerazzurri all season long but he surprised the football world by joining Napoli instead.
The 23-year-old forward credits the fans as the main reason for his move to the San Paolo.
“I preferred Napoli to Inter because of the support shown by the fans and the general public,” Cavani said to TuttoNapoli.net.
“It is also bonus to work with (Ezequiel) Lavezzi and (Fabio) Quagliarella. We will form a great attacking line-up,” he added.
The Uruguay international moved from Palermo to the Azzurri for €17 million.
