Napoli striker Edinson Cavani wants his side to replicate their efforts against Fiorentina when they host Chelsea on Tuesday.
The Naples-based club take on Chelsea in the first leg of a round-of-16 Champions League tie only days after they trounced Fiorentina 3-0 away from home.
Cavani – who scored twice in Friday’s victory – hopes Napoli approach the match in the same way they did at Fiorentina.
“The first thing that comes to mind after tonight’s (Friday’s) game is this is the way (we have to play) against Chelsea. This is the attitude we must have for that game,” Cavani told Il Corriere dello Sport.
“From now, we will be thinking about a challenge that will be very tough. Every minute till then will be very important for our recovery.”
Cavani feels his side have every chance of causing an upset against Chelsea, who will head into the match with just one win from their last six matches in all competitions.
“This is football and in football you never know,” he said.
“Many thought Napoli could not produce what we have done in the Champions League. The game is 90 minutes and the ball is round – anything can happen on the field.”
