According to a recent report from Sunday Mirror, Edinson Cavani’s situation at Manchester United has a few “complications” that need to be sorted out.
The belief is that there is a £2 million pay-off United will have to pay if they cannot, or do not, trigger a one-year contract extension with the striker.
There’s a whole lot of red tape surrounding this and it becomes even more complex when taking into consideration the Boca Juniors part of this.
Cavani seems interested in heading to Boca but there’s no guarantee it’s going to happen – and it’s likely going to come down to money.
The financial impact of Cavani going will clearly be notable, and that’s before we even talk about what it’s going to do to the spine of the team.
Cavani is an important figure and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will need to find a suitable replacement if he ends up leaving.
