Bordeaux’s Argentine international striker Fernando Cavenaghi will be out for between six and eight weeks with a knee ligament injury, his club revealed on Monday.
Cavenaghi sustained the injury in a collision with opposition goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso shortly after coming on as a substitute during his side’s 3-0 defeat at Toulouse on Saturday.
The 25-year-old is Bordeaux’s top scorer in Ligue 1 this season with 13 goals.
