Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has spoken of his dream of lifting the Champions League trophy just once in his career.
The west London side are the last English team left in the tournament after reaching the semi-finals by overcoming Benfica 3-1 on aggregate, and they will now face Barcelona for a place in the final.
Chelsea reached the final in 2008, but lost out to Manchester United on penalties in Moscow, and the goalkeeper wants to go one better and achieve his dream by triumphing at the Allianz Arena in May.
“You dream that you win the Champions League once in your life,” Cech wrote on his personal website.
“We just progressed through to the next round and still have a chance to fight for the trophy.
“Now we are facing the world’s best football club but it was almost a certainty that if we got far we would probably play against them. You cannot look to the left or to the right at this stage.
“Anything is possible in football and if you look back at our previous meetings you can see that almost all the matches were tight and decided by details.
“We know we are not favourites but we are not going to give up.”
