Celta to sign Denis Suarez

Celta Vigo are expected to complete the signing of Denis Suarez from Barcelona very soon, according to Marca.

The midfielder, whom the Catalans re-signed from Villareal by activating a buy-back clause in 2016, failed to make an impression again and was sent out on loan to Arsenal in January, with the Gunners having an option to buy. However, his move to the Emirates turned out to be a failure too, and manager Unai Emery realized he couldn’t count on the 25-year-old, resulting in his return to the Camp Nou at the end of the season.

Barca coach Ernesto Valverde has no plans for him either, and he is set to leave again in order to try and get his career back on track.

Celta will apparently be paying a €10 million base fee for his services, along with “a few million more” in add-ons. His wages won’t be matching those he receives as a Barcelona player, but he is expected to play a lot more.
