Interesting news are coming out of Spain. Celta Vigo have won their last night’s match against Real Sociedad, beating them 1-0 in San Sebastian through Iago Aspas’ penalty. They are now getting closer to safety and further away from relegation zone, which means they can concentrate on signings for the next season.
And Celta Vigo want to keep Fedor Smolov as their player. La Liga outfit signed the Russian on loan this winter, making an obligation to pay 700k to Lokomotiv Moscow, his parent club, in order for him to stay at Celta for six months. After good performances in Spain, the 30-year-old Smolov could be staying there.
According to Cadena Ser, Celta have already offered Lokomotiv six million euros in order to get Smolov on a permanent deal. Lokomotiv, who just appointed new coach Marko Nikolic, will have a tough job of keeping the experienced player in Russia and it seems Smolov would welcome his stay in Spain.
